How AussieTizen works
Last reviewed 1 August 2026 · AussieTizen editorial team
AussieTizen is an independent practice platform for the Australian citizenship test. We write our own questions from the official study booklet, Australian Citizenship: Our Common Bond, explain every answer, and let you practise in the real 20-question, 45-minute format until you can pass with confidence. Here is exactly how the practice is made, and why you can trust it.
Independent, and honest about it
AussieTizen is not affiliated with the Department of Home Affairs or the Australian Government. Our questions are our own, written from the official study booklet, and are never the department's own exam questions, which are not published.

How our questions are made
Every practice question is written by our team, based on the official study booklet, Australian Citizenship: Our Common Bond, which is the same source the real test draws from. They are not the Department of Home Affairs' own exam questions, which are never published, and we never reproduce copyrighted study booklet text. Instead, our questions cover the same facts and topics in the same style, so what you practise transfers directly to test day. Our FAQ explains how the test is structured.
Explanations and mistake review
Getting an answer wrong only helps if you learn from it. Every question comes with a plain-language explanation, so you understand why an answer is right, not just that it is. The questions you miss are collected for targeted mistake review, so you can go back and revise your weak spots instead of re-reading everything.
Timed mock exams
Our mock exams follow the official format: 20 questions, a 45-minute limit, and you need 15 of 20 (75%) correct to pass — and, like the real test, all 5 Australian values questions must be answered correctly. There are 133 mock exams plus a random-draw exam that changes every time. Practising under the clock means the format holds no surprises on the day.
Track your progress
You can practise by section across all 5 sections covering the official study booklet, use flashcards for active recall, and a simple progress dashboard shows how you are scoring across the topics. That way you know which sections still need work, and when you are genuinely ready for your test appointment.
Independent and transparent
AussieTizen is independent. We are not affiliated with the Department of Home Affairs or any government body. The official test is arranged through the Department of Home Affairs as part of your citizenship application; we are a preparation tool only. We are upfront about that because trust matters more than a marketing claim.
